Swan Lake Wildlife Area
Swan Lake Wildlife Area is a 2,466-acre tract of protected land in Columbia County, managed by the Wisconsin DNR. The lake itself is 407 acres, part of the Fox River system, and runs 2.4 miles from inlet to outlet with large sections of marshy, undeveloped shoreline on both ends. Fish species include musky, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, with a public boat landing providing access to the lake. The surrounding wildlife area is managed for grassland, prairie, oak barrens, and sedge meadow habitat — good territory for birding, wildlife watching, and photography.

Chandler Park & Park Lake
Chandler Park is Pardeeville’s largest park, almost completely surrounded by Park Lake, with a sandy swimming beach, baseball field, basketball courts, playground, and two large shelters. Park Lake covers 330 acres in the heart of town and offers fishing for musky, walleye, northern pike, and panfish with public boat landing access. The park hosts several community events throughout the year and is part of the Wisconsin Tri Series triathlon course. It’s a genuine small-town park that earns its reputation.

Johnny B’s Rolling Smoke
Johnny B’s Rolling Smoke has been a fixture on North Main Street in Pardeeville since 2015, specializing in wood-fired barbecue and homemade sauces made from scratch. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with views of Park Lake, with live music on summer weekends. The rooftop patio is a highlight, and there’s even docking available for anyone arriving by boat. Brisket and pulled pork are the go-to orders, and the portions are generous.
